Step Out to Fight Diabetes

Step Out for Diabetes Walk on September 27

Step Out to Fight Diabetes

On Saturday, September 27 I will be participating on the Average Josh Team to Step Out for Diabetes, a walk to raise money and awareness for diabetes research. Our team, made up of people from CrossPoint Church and friends and family of Josh Lawson, will be going on a three mile walk by the General Mills Headquarters

Many of you might not know Josh Lawson, but he and his wife Casey are leaders in our Sunday night CrossPointPM worship service. Josh was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in November of 2006 at the age of 24. His life has gone through a lot of change over the last two years:  the 4 daily injections of insulin, the doctors appointments, the daily fears of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), hyperglycemia  (high blood sugar), watching what he eats, counting every carb he puts in his mouth, his thyroid problems, and more. It's because of all this, and knowing that we don't fully know what it's like to live his life, that our team is  WALKING FOR JOSH, in the hopes that some day, there will be a cure.

On behalf of Josh, those at CrossPoint Church who have diabetes, and the 21 million Americans with diabetes (of that the 2 million living with Type 1 diabetes) and their families and friends, we are counting on you to help our team make a difference! The funds we raise will support the American Diabetes Association’s important research, information and advocacy efforts and its mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

The goal of the Average Josh Team is to raise  $1,000. My personal goal is to raise $250 through my participation in the walk. I need your help!!

You can make your donations online at  Click here: Step Out to Fight Diabetes (click on the tab that says "Sponsor me.") Or you can write a check to the American Diabetes Association and either give them to me personally,  turn them into the church office or place them in the offering at any of our worship services at CrossPoint Church . There are 7 people from CrossPoint Church on the Average Josh's team, so you can also make a team gift by clicking here.

Thanks for your support and prayers!
